Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Barbara Leaf
CAIRO - 9 July 2024: The US Department of State announced that Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Barbara Leaf, is undertaking a tour of the Middle East from July 8 to 14.
According to a statement reported by Alhurra TV, Leaf will meet with government officials to continue diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire agreement, securing the release of all detainees, and ensuring the distribution of humanitarian aid throughout Gaza.
The statement detailed that Barbara Leaf's tour will include stops in the UAE, Egypt, Jordan, Israel, and the West Bank. During these visits, she will engage in additional discussions about the post-war period to establish lasting peace and security.
