CAIRO - 9 July 2024: Egypt's Foreign Minister and Minister of Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, Badr Eid Al-Atty, will welcome Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi in the New Administrative Capital on Wednesday. The meeting will be followed by a joint press conference.

 

In another development, the US Department of State announced that Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Barbara Leaf is conducting a Middle East tour from July 8 to 14.

 

According to a statement reported by Alhurra TV, Leaf will meet with government officials to continue diplomatic efforts towards a ceasefire agreement, ensure the release of all detainees, and guarantee the distribution of humanitarian aid across Gaza.

 

The statement further detailed that Leaf’s tour will include visits to the UAE, Egypt, Jordan, Israel, and the West Bank. Additional discussions will focus on post-war recovery efforts aimed at building lasting peace and security.

 

This diplomatic activity underscores the strategic importance of the Middle East in US foreign policy and highlights ongoing efforts to stabilize the region through comprehensive diplomatic initiatives.
