CAIRO - 2 July 2024: Informed source tells Extra News that members of the new Cabinet will take the oath Wednesday, and then hold the weekly meeting, as changes have been made at 20 ministries.
The source revealed that new ministers will be appointed in the ministries of education, finance, agriculture, justice, social solidarity, petroleum and electricity among others, including the economic group.
Egyptian local media reported that Sherif El Sherbini will be minister of housing; Ahmed Kojok minister of finance; Sherif Farouk minister of supply; Osama al-Azhari minister of endowments; Maya Morsy minister of social solidarity; Mahmoud Fawzy minister of parliamentary affairs and political communication; Adnan El Fangary minister of justice; Sameh El Hefny minister of aviation; and, Mohamed Abdel Latif minister of education.
The ministries of foreign affairs and immigration will be merged together and headed by Ambassador Badr Abdel Aty. Further, The ministry of investment is reestablished and will be led by Hassan El Khatib. Also, several deputies to be appointed for the prime minister.
There are bews on changing the governors of Cairo, North Sinai, Gharbia, Kafr El Sheikh, Ismailiyah, Luxor, Alexandria and Suez.
The new Cabinet is formed in alignment with the constitution as President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi is starting his third term after taking the oath in April. He secured 89.6 percent of the votes in the election that took place in December.
The ceremony was held for the first time in the House of Representatives in the New Administrative Capital.
