CAIRO- 30 June 2024: Egypt's First Lady Entissar Amer congratulated the Egyptian people on the 11th anniversary of the 2013 June 30 Revolution in a social media post on Sunday.
Amer commended the Egyptian people for their action in protecting their country and national identity during the revolution.
"I invite you all to draw inspiration from the spirit of the June 30 Revolution to confront all challenges that we face," she added.
The June 30 Revolution, commemorated as a national holiday, led to the ousting of then-President Mohamed Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood-led government.
Following the revolution, Egypt underwent economic reforms, political shifts, and embarked on a relentless fight against terrorism, culminating in lasting peace and tightened security for the nation.
This year, Egyptians are celebrating the anniversary of the revolution amidst various challenges, including a turbulent regional situation due to conflicts in Gaza and Sudan, as well as rising prices.
President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, in his commemorative speech, highlighted the hardships faced by the Egyptian people due to the current price increases.
He reassured them that the new government's top priority is to alleviate their suffering, generate more job opportunities, and build a better future for all Egyptians.
Sisi also emphasized the "heinous Israeli war in Gaza," underscoring Egypt's unwavering support for the Palestinian people during the conflict and its efforts to prevent any forced displacement of Palestinians into Egyptian territories.
