These remarks were made by Assaf during the opening of the technology exhibition and software market at the City of Culture in the capital Tunis on Thursday on the sidelines of the 24th Arab Radio and Television Festival in Tunisia. The festival, organized by the Arab States Broadcasting Union under the slogan "Support for Palestine," is being held from June 26th to 29th.

Assaf explained that the Palestinian people are facing a war of genocide and a crime of ethnic cleansing. He emphasized the role of Palestinian journalists and Arab media in revealing the truth about what is happening in occupied Palestine and supporting Gaza, stressing the need to support targeted Palestinian journalists during this period.

He added that this war has resulted in more than 50,000 casualties, including martyrs and missing persons, and hundreds of thousands of wounded and displaced individuals who need support from all the free people of the world. He noted that the Israeli occupation is trying to falsify history, but in the end, the Palestinian narrative has prevailed.

Since the beginning of the Israeli war on October 7th, journalists in the Gaza Strip have faced continuous Israeli attacks directly targeting them, their homes, their families, and their media institutions.
