CAIRO – 18 June 2024: Elena Panova, the UN Resident Coordinator in Egypt, reaffirmed the organization's ongoing commitment to support the Egyptian government in achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) and national development priorities.

She noted that in 2023, the UN funded activities in Egypt amounting to approximately $209 million.

This statement was made in conjunction with the release of the annual report of the 28 UN agencies operating in Egypt, detailing the results of their joint cooperation across various fields.

It is worth mentioning that this report is the first issued under the framework of UN cooperation with Egypt to achieve the SDGs, which was adopted and signed last year. The report covers the period from 2023 to 2027.
