President Sisi leaves Saudi Arabia, returns Egypt after performing Hajj

CAIRO – 17 June 2024:  Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al Sisi and his delegation departed Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and returned to Egypt on Monday after performing Hajj.

Sisi was seen off at King Abdulaziz International Airport by Makkah Region Deputy Governor Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz and other senior officials, according to Saudi Press Agency.

A brotherly meeting was held on Sunday between President Sisi and Saudi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman in Mina, Saudi Arabia.

Sisi earlier on Sunday, expressed appreciation for King Salman of Saudi Arabia and Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Salman for the warm reception he had been met with while performing the pilgrimage.

The president also commended– on his social media accounts – the outstanding organization of the ritual by the Saudi authorities and the services provided to millions of pilgrims in an atmosphere that reflects safety, security, reassurance, and smoothness.

The president concluded by extending his greetings to all Muslims worldwide on the occasion of Eid Al Adha, wishing both Egypt and Saudi Arabia prosperity and blessings.

On Thursday, Sisi headed to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform the pilgrimage that majorly takes place during the four-day Adha Eid.

Sisi First arrived in Al-Madinah, where he prayed at the Prophet's Mosque and visited the Prophet's grave, peace be upon him, before going to Makkah to commence the Hajj rituals.
