CAIRO – 16 June 2024: The Israeli army announced Sunday starting a tactical truce as military activities will be suspended daily from 8:00 until 19:00 in the southern section of Gaza Strip along Philadelphi Corridor - stretching between Karam Abou Salem Border Crossing with Egypt and the North – in order to allow the entry of humanitarian aid.

On the other hand, Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir stated that the Cabinet had not been consulted about the tactical truce and that it contradicted its decisions. He also described the maker of the truce decision as "evil or stupid that should not be in office" as it comes in tandem with happenings of human losses among soldiers.

Since October 7, the death toll among the Palestinians and Israelis has hit 37,296 and 1,139, respectively. Further, there are 85,197 wounded Palestinians and 10,000 others who are buried under the rubble.
