CAIRO – 13 June 2024: The Ministry of International Cooperation revealed in a statement Thursday that the China-funded vocational training center will consist of the fields of energy, renewable energy, automotive, robotics, electronics, plastics, telecommunication technology, and languages.

The center – worth 128 million yuan provided as a grant - will also comprise dorms for both trainers and trainees, and will span over 40,000 square meters at the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCzone), as per the agreement signed in March.

The SCzone had signed an agreement in 2023 to open a branch of El Sewedy Academy in collaboration with Banque Misr at a cost of LE45 million. Another was signed in 2021 with Siemens International and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development to establish the Egyptian-German Academy for Technical Training with €22.5 million. The target is delivering training to 5,500 Egyptian engineers and technicians by 2025.
