Egypt to transfer its experience with hepatitis C eradication to Equatorial Guinea

CAIRO – 12 June 2024: The health ministers of Egypt and Equatorial Guinea met Wednesday to discuss collaboration in drug supplies, sharpening the skills of medics, and combating hepatitis C.

 

In that regard, Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar welcomed receiving medics from the fellow African state to obtain training at Egyptian hospitals. Further, he declared that Egyptian medics would head to the country to transfer Egypt's experience with the eradication of hepatitis C by training them on methods of diagnosis and administering treatment protocols in addition to sending the needed medications.

 

In a related context, the minister stated that a study would be carried out to establish a branch of one of the state-owned drug firms in Equatorial Guinea.

 

On another level, he stressed maintaining the periodic operation of medical caravans to Equatorial Guinea whose mission is not restricted to simple procedures but also includes complex surgeries.
