Government source denies circulated ‘ministerial amendments’ on social media

CAIRO – 10 June 2024: An informed government source denied on Monday all circulated ‘ministerial amendments’ that were published on social media.

“There is no truth to everything being circulated on some websites and social media sites regarding the ministerial amendments,” The government source said

The source confirmed that Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly is intensifying his consultations to form the new government from ‘national competencies’ per what President Sisi has directed.

On June 3, Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly presents the government's resignation to President Abdel Fattah al Sisi.

President Sisi assigned Madbouly to form a new government of ministers with distinguished competencies, experience, and capabilities.

President Sisi requested that the new government work to achieve several goals, including: maintaining national security, continuing political efforts, following up on security stability, combating terrorism files, developing culture files, national awareness, and moderate religious discourse.

Sisi also placed the issue of building the Egyptian human being on the list of priorities, especially in health and education.

President Sisi directed that the new government should continue the economic reform file, focusing on attracting internal and external investments, encouraging private sector growth, and making efforts to reduce price increases and inflation and control markets.

President Sisi also assigned the current government to continue performing its duties and tasks until the formation of the new government.
