CAIRO - 9 June 2024: Al-Azhar condemned in the strongest terms the “brutal massacre committed by the terrorists of the criminal Zionist occupation” against civilians in the Nuseirat camp Saturday in the central Gaza Strip.
In a statement, Al-Azhar denounced the continued support of some regimes and governments for the “criminality of this brutal entity and its perpetration of bloody massacres against defenseless civilians,” adding that this confirms to the world that a genocide is taking place in Palestine.
More than two hundred Palestinians were killed and four hundred wounded in an Israeli operation that used an aid truck as camouflage to free four hostages. Al-Azhar said it is a “new crime added to the Zionist record against the Palestinians who own the land.”
Al-Azhar urged the people of free conscience to stop the bloodshed in Gaza and protect and provide relief to civilians, children, women and the elderly, calling for the Israel to be held accountable and prosecuted for violating all international laws and norms.
