CAIRO – 8 June 8 2024: Egyptians can look forward to a short break from the scorching heat on Sunday and Monday, as temperatures are expected to drop slightly before climbing back up again, surpassing 40 degrees Celsius in most areas.

According to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA), Sunday and Monday will bring a welcome relief with a 3-5 degree decrease in temperatures across the country.

However, starting from Tuesday and throughout the rest of the week, temperatures will gradually rise once more.

By Friday, Cairo and the Nile Delta region will experience scorching highs of 41 degrees Celsius and lows of 27 degrees Celsius.

Moving towards the northern coast, where Alexandria and Matrouh are located, temperatures will reach a more bearable 35 degrees Celsius during the day, with lows of 24 degrees Celsius at night.

In Sinai, home to the captivating cities of Sharm El-Sheikh and Dahab, temperatures will be sizzling hot, reaching highs of 41 degrees Celsius and lows of 30 degrees Celsius.

Heading to northern Upper Egypt, expect hot weather with highs of 42 degrees Celsius and lows of 26 degrees Celsius on Friday.

Meanwhile, in southern Upper Egypt, temperatures will soar to an upper level, with highs of 45 degrees Celsius and lows of 30 degrees Celsius on that day.

These temperatures are recorded in the shade, and the actual temperatures in direct sunlight will be even hotter.
