CAIRO - 6 June 2024: Egypt and Cyprus have intensified cooperation since October 7, Constantinos Kombos, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus, said Thursday.
“We are part of the same region, and what is happening in our region of the world is something that affects both countries directly,” he told Cairo News.
The two countries have expanded this close cooperation and coordination regarding the situation in Gaza, especially with regard to how to “send the correct messages and how we can stop the war and increase aid,” Kombos added.
He said he met with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry more than 8 or 9 times during the past five or six months, besides phone calls.
“The close cooperation between us has been effective,” he highlighted, underscoring that the presidents of the two countries have also been in close contact on the issue of Gaza and other matters.
