CAIRO - 28 May 2024: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Chinese President Xi Jinping will hold an important summit meeting, Wednesday, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

 

The discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in various fields, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of elevating relations to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership.

 

During the summit, the two leaders will address various regional and international issues of mutual concern, primarily the war in Gaza and ways to restore stability in the region to fulfill the aspirations of its people for peace, security, and development.

 

Additionally, President El-Sisi and President Xi Jinping are scheduled to witness the signing ceremonies of several agreements and memorandums of cooperation in various fields.

 

President El-Sisi's visit to Beijing comes in response to an invitation from the Chinese president for a state visit to the People's Republic of China.

 

During his visit, President El-Sisi will hold several meetings with senior Chinese officials, including the Premier of the State Council and members of the National People's Congress, to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries in all fields.

 

President El-Sisi is also expected to meet with the heads of several major Chinese companies operating in various sectors to discuss opportunities for attracting more investments to Egypt, in line with the state’s efforts to enhance industrial localization mechanisms and technology transfer through cooperation with the private sector and direct foreign investment.

 

Furthermore, President El-Sisi, alongside the Chinese president and leaders from Bahrain, the UAE, Tunisia, and the Secretary-General of the Arab League, will participate in the opening session of the 10th ministerial meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum, scheduled for Thursday. The meeting aims to discuss various aspects of Arab-Chinese relations and ways to strengthen them.

 

The China-Arab States Cooperation Forum includes China and 22 members of the Arab League, aiming to enhance dialogue, cooperation, peace, and development.

 

The forum has adopted 19 cooperation mechanisms, including the ministerial meeting, senior officials' meeting, strategic political dialogue at the senior officials' level, Sino-Arab relations symposium, Sino-Arab civilization dialogue, Sino-Arab reform and development forum, Sino-Arab business conference and investment symposium, Sino-Arab energy cooperation conference, Arab arts festival, Chinese arts festival, Sino-Arab media cooperation symposium, Sino-Arab friendship conference, Sino-Arab cities forum, Beidou navigation system cooperation forum, Sino-Arab women’s forum, Sino-Arab health cooperation forum, Sino-Arab radio and television cooperation forum, experts' meeting on libraries and information, and the Sino-Arab technology transfer and innovation conference.
