CAIRO – 27 May 2024:  The Arab Parliament (AP) condemned on Monday the horrific massacre committed by the Israeli occupation forces against Palestinian civilians in the refugee camps in Rafah.

The Parliament asserted that the occupation has violated all laws, norms, and international and legitimate resolutions that call for an immediate cessation of aggression and a halt to the military attack on the city of Rafah in a flagrant breach of all decisions, including the latest rulings of the International Court of Justice, which called for stopping the military assault on Rafah.

In a statement, the Arab Parliament emphasized that the failure to hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its crimes and massacres against the Palestinian people, and the lack of any deterrent measures against it, embolden it to continue its killing and destruction. The positions of the states supporting the occupation, primarily the US, are the main reason for its continued perpetration of more crimes and massacres, including today's massacre in Rafah, which resulted in dozens of martyrs and wounded, including children and women.

The Arab Parliament called on the international community, the Security Council, and human rights, humanitarian, and international organizations to act immediately to pressure the Israeli occupation to stop these massacres, cease the aggression on Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, and compel it to implement the decisions of the International Court of Justice and legitimate resolutions.

The Parliament also called for a return to peace negotiations to reach solutions to end the war, and genocide along with stopping the continuous and escalating bloodshed day after day.
