President Sisi returns to Egypt after participating in Arab summit in Manama

CAIRO – 16 May 2024: President Abdel Fattah al Sisi returned home on Thursday after taking part in the 33rd Arab summit that took place in Bahrain, said Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmi.

At the 33rd session of the Arab League (AL) Summit in Manama on Thursday, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said that Israel maneuvers to avoid reaching a ceasefire in Gaza, calling upon the Arab leaders and the international community to unite to save the future of the Palestinians

The president said the Arab world and the whole region are facing a defining moment that requires all relevant parties to make a decisive choice between the path of peace, stability and hope; and that of chaos and destruction fueled by the persistent military escalation in the Gaza Strip.

President El-Sisi added that the Israeli war against the Palestinians in Gaza will be a historcial testament to a devastating human tragedy of the outrageous killing and brutal siege of an entire people that have been subjected to massive starvation, unspeakable horror, and compulsory displacement.

The president continued that these atrocities are being committed amid the deplorable incapacity of the international community, its leading actors and UN institutions.
