Egypt's stance on Gaza is clear, our actions precede any words, Presidency spokesperson

CAIRO - 15 May 2024: Egypt’s official spokesman for the Presidency, Ahmed Fahmy, said, Wednesday, that the Arab summit in Manama will discuss in detail the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, and efforts to resolve the current crisis.

Fahmy added that the Egyptian position was clear and Cairo’s actions preceded any words or statements.

He pointed out that Egypt made a great effort in cooperation and coordination with Qatar and the United States of America to try to reach a ceasefire and prisoners swap deal along with allowing the entry of aid in sufficient quantities.

Fahmy explained that these Egyptian efforts were diligent and intense to the utmost degree and that Egypt still hopes that the voice of reason and wisdom will prevail in this crisis to reach a satisfactory solution.

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al Sisi arrived, on Wedesday in Manama, Bahrain, to participate in the 33rd Arab League Summit.

King of Bahrain, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, was keen to receive President Sisi upon his arrival.

Sisi’s participation in the Arab Summit in Manama reflects Egypt’s keenness to coordinate stances with Arab countries in this critical time and amid big challenges facing the Arab world.

The Israeli aggression in Gaza tops the agenda of the Arab Summit, which will kick off here Thursday.

According to Presidency, Spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy, Sisi’s participation in the summit comes within the framework of Egypt's keenness to coordinate with the Arab brothers, and to unify positions and ranks, in light of the critical phase through which the Arab region is going and the enormous challenges it confronts at various levels.
