CAIRO- 13 May 2024: Sameh Shoukry, the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, is set to depart on Monday evening for Bahrain. He will be attending the ministerial meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States to prepare for the 33rd session of the Arab Summit.

 

The ministerial meeting of the Arab League Council will be held on Tuesday, May 14, stated the Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid in a statement on Monday.

 

The meeting will discuss draft resolutions in preparation for submitting them to the Arab leaders during the summit activities.

 

The activities of the summit would shed light on the situation in Libya, Sudan, Somalia, Lebanon, the Comoros, and Yemen, in addition to issues related with maintaining Arab national security, and counter-terrorism.

 

The ongoing Israeli war in Gaza and the Palestinian-Israeli cause will come on the top of the summit’s agenda, Abu Zeid continued.

 

Additionally, the Foreign Minister will hold several meetings with Arab Foreign Ministers on the sidelines of the summit.
