Burkina Faso mulls Egypt's support to anti-terrorism efforts

CAIRO – 1 May 2024: Assistant to Foreign Minster for African Affairs Ihab Awad and Head of the Diplomatic Missions at the Burkina Faso Foreign Ministry Saido Zongo co-chaired Monday political consultations between the two countries.

The meeting displayed updates on existing areas of joint cooperation, and visions on adding new ones, especially Egypt's support to measures aimed at institutional capacity-building in African states, and to Burkina Faso's anti-terrorism efforts through a comprehensive approach.

The diplomats from both countries exchanged views on regional issues of mutual concern, particularly crises in Sahel and Horn of Africa. The Egyptian side also presented its vision on developments in Libya, Sudan, and Gaza Strip.
