CAIRO – 26 April 2024: After a scorching heatwave that engulfed Egypt, pushing Cairo's temperatures over 40 degrees Celsius, delightful weather awaits you outside.

Today in Cairo, the thermometer has settled at a comfortable 22 degrees Celsius, with highs expected to reach 29 during the day, according to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).

You might even catch a sprinkle of light rain in various areas of Cairo and the Nile Delta.

Meanwhile, brace yourself for thunderous rain in South Sinai and the Red Sea mountains, with some areas experiencing torrential downpours, as forecasted by the EMA.

The chances of light to moderate rain and thunder in South Sinai and the Red Sea mountains will persist until Sunday.

Overall, expect warm weather to dominate northern Egypt, extending down to northern Upper Egypt during the daytime, with a touch of coolness during the nights throughout the country until next week.

However, be prepared for scorching temperatures in southern Upper Egypt during the day, while the nights will be more moderate.

On Friday, Greater Cairo and the Nile Delta will see highs of 29 degrees and lows of 17 degrees, while the North Coast will experience highs of 22 and lows of 16.

In South Sinai, anticipate highs reaching 35 on Friday, gradually decreasing to 32 next week, with lows ranging from 22 to 23.

In northern Upper Egypt, temperatures will peak at 33 degrees, with lows of 18, whereas southern Upper Egypt will sizzle with highs of 39 and lows of 24.
