Egypt’s Olympic Games City was dream achieved in 5 years, Sisi

CAIRO – 24 April 2024:  Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al Sisi welcomed on Wednesday all guests participating in the Arab Military Equestrian Championship in the Olympic Games City in the New Administrative Capital.

President Sisi said this Olympic City just few years ago, was an empty land.

“We had a dream to have sports facilities worthy of Egypt and its people. This dream was achieved within five years; therefore, I congratulate Egypt, its people, and ourselves that we have facilities worthy of all of us and the Arab people,” Sisi said

“I also would like to thank everyone who contributed to building these huge facilities and congratulate them for their success, and by this, I mean Egyptian companies and Egyptian officials.” Sisi added.

He stressed that Egypt now has an Olympic city in which all international competitions and tournaments can be organized according to all the standards of the various federations.

President Sisi arrived on Wednesday at the venue of the Arab Military Equestrian Championship in the Olympic Games City in the New Administrative Capital.

Sisi started with an inspection tour inside the places designated for holding the Arab Military Equestrian Championship.

The tournament will take place starting 24th to 27th of April at the Olympic Games City in the New Administrative Capital.

Eleven Arab countries are participating in the tournament including, (Egypt - Libya - Qatar - Algeria - Kuwait - Tunisia - Syria - Iraq - Saudi Arabia - Jordan - UAE).

Many national entities and companies were keen to confirm their participation as sponsors of the tournament, and the it comes within the framework of the efforts of the Egyptian Armed Forces to strengthen military and cultural ties between Arab countries and exchange experiences in various sports, which contributes to consolidating the bonds of relations and cooperation between Arab armies.

The championship also comes within the framework of the Armed Forces’ keenness to establish equestrian sports within Egyptian stadiums.
