High temperatures wave breaks, light to moderate rain rains might be witnessed until Eid

CAIRO – 8 April 2024: Head of the Climate Information Center at the Ministry of Agriculture, Muhamad Ali Fahim, said that starting, Monday, it is expected that the high temperature wave will break during the day and night, although it will be around average in most areas.

He noted that another drop in temperatures will take place later as cold night will be more witnessed.

Fahim added that the country is affected during this period by an extension of a low temperature wave coming from northern Europe that is working to return temperatures to their normal levels at this time of the year.

Fahim explained that forecasts indicate light to moderate rains starting Monday on the northwestern coast, especially the governorates of Salloum and Marsa Matrouh.

Shortly later, the rains will move inland and concentrate on the north of the Delta, reaching Lower Egypt and Cairo, then head to the canal cities and Sinai. These rains are expected to continue on Tuesday and Wednesday as it will remain until Eid al-Fitr.

Moderate to heavy rain, could be seen in the governorates of Marsa Matrouh-Alexandria - Beheira, Kafr El-Sheikh, and Damietta.

Other light to moderate rain, could be witnessed on areas of the northeastern coast, Central Sinai, the canal cities, and areas of Greater Cairo, Fayoum and Beni Suef.
