CAIRO – 7 April 2024: Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry received Sunday a phone call from his Norwegian counterpart Espen Barth Eide as they conferred over the conditions in Gaza and efforts needed to contain the humanitarian crisis in the Strip.
The two ministers also tackled international endeavors deployed to end the war, and moves aimed at convincing more countries to back the creation of a Palestinian state. In a related context, both of them rejected any Israeli military operation in Palestinian Rafah for its disastrous consequences on the humanitarian level.
Minister Shokry equally stressed that Israel must fulfill its duties as an occupational force by attacking neither civilians nor rescue workers as well as opening all border crossings with Gaza, including those in the North, in order to facilitate the entry of sufficient supplies of aid.
