CAIRO – 4 April 2024: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has sent a cable to his Senegalese counterpart, President Bassirou Faye, to congratulate him on Senegal Independence Day.
President Sisi delegated Presidential Secretary Mohamed Negm to the Embassy of Senegal in Cairo to extend congratulations on this occasion.
The Senegal Independence Day is observed every year on April 4, marking independence from France in 1960.
Diomaye Faye, 44, was sworn in as Senegal’s president on Tuesday, succeeding Macky Sall, who remained in power for 12 years since 2012.
