In a statement, Al Azhar said the resolution was long delayed due to the intransigence of some world powers that supported Israel, but global popular pressure, especially in Europe and the US, embarrassed those countries that back Israel.

This resolution will lead to a permanent cessation of aggression, a complete withdrawal of the occupation forces from the Gaza Strip, and allow aid to reach the Palestinians, the statement pointed out.

Al Azhar expressed its appreciation to all fair countries, and institutions that exerted the utmost pressure to adopt this resolution, calling for continued efforts and pressure to prosecute Israeli officials for the war crimes and genocide they committed against the Palestinians.
