CAIRO - 17 March 2024: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi receives on Sunday the President of the European Union Commission, the Prime Minister of Belgium, the President of the European Union, and the heads of state and government of Cyprus, Italy, Greece, and Austria.
Presidential spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy said Cairo is hosting an Egyptian-European summit, which will witness the enhancement of relations between Egypt and the European Union to the level of a “strategic and comprehensive partnership.”
The summit will result in a qualitative leap in cooperation and coordination between the two sides.
The President is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings in the Ittihadiya presidential palace with the European leaders to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations, most notably political relations, combating terrorism, and economic cooperation, as well as energy, industry, technology, education and immigration.
The summit will also discuss the regional situation, especially the war in the Gaza Strip, means to restore security and stability in the region, and avoid the repercussions of the current tensions on international peace.
