Egypt denies embassy in Sudan sabotaged

CAIRO - 12 March 2024: Egypt has denied that its embassy in Sudan was sabotaged, according to the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"It is unfortunate that some media outlets circulated old photos of the damage to which the Egyptian embassy in Khartoum during the armed confrontations raging in the Sudanese capital," spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zaid said on X on Monday.

"The incident dates back months ago, and Egypt at that time, in coordination between the ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries, sent a committee to inventory the damage in the uninhabited premises devoid of any important documents," he added.
