CAIRO – 4 March 2024: Egypt’s Public Prosecution affirmed in a statement, Monday that the inviolability of private life is protected by constitution and law and that it will strictly confront any attempts to violate such right including the phenomenon of spreading and circulating news on social media that incite public opinion or spread lies.

And with Regard to the incident of the death of Arish University's veterinary student Nayera El Zoghby, the Prosecution ordered to remand in custody two defendants (a male and female students) for four days pending investigations.

The prosecution said that it accused the defendants of threatening the victim by writing about her private life which is considered as felony and violating her private life and this is considered as a misdemeanor.

The prosecution also ordered confiscating the cell phones of the defendants and the victim for further investigations.

The body of a 19-year-old student at Arish University, who reportedly took her own life after being subjected to phsychological pressures, was exhumed on Saturday for a post-mortem examination.

Nayera Salah, a student at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Arish University, has prevailed social media in the country in recent days.

According to the prosecution, Nayera's parents and sister, who were reinterrogated, expressed their suspicion of foul play due to the information circulating around them.

The prosecution stated that the initial investigation, which included questioning Nayera's parents and colleagues at the university hostel, as well as examining the body, did not indicate any foul play in her death.

Nayera allegedly took her own life after being threatened by two colleagues to reveal personal information of her, which had a detrimental effect on her mental state.

She was subsequently transported from the university hostel, where she resides approximately 181 miles away from her home in Daqahlia, to Arish General Hospital after experiencing unexplained stomach pain.

Nayera passed away shortly after arriving at the hospital due to severe circulatory failure caused by a toxic substance, according to a relative.

Her family questions the possibility of suicide, citing that Nayera had called them before her death, informing them about her stomach pain.

They believe foul play may be involved.
