EgyptAir flight changes its course, land in Geneva to save passenger life

CAIRO – 29 February 2024: EgyptAir announced, Thursday, that out of the company’s concern for the safety of its customers, it has changed the course of its B777/300 flight No. MS985, with 309 passengers on board, which was heading from Cairo International Airport to New York Airport, in order to save the life of a passenger who had a surprising critical health condition while being on board.

In a statement, the company explained that the pilot immediately decided to change the flight path and make an emergency landing at Geneva Airport to save the passenger’s life, and the cabin crew provided first aid to her on the plane.

Upon arrival at Geneva Airport, an ambulance was called and the female passenger was dropped off to receive treatment. All passengers were also dropped off based on instructions from Geneva Airport.

The plane, shortly later took off from Geneva Airport to continue its journey to New York.
