CAIRO – February 26, 2024: The Egyptian-Pakistani joint military exercises (Raad - 1) kicked off on Monday with the participation of military personnel from the Egyptian Parachute and Thunderbolt Forces and the Pakistani Special Forces, according to a statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Defense on Monday.
The drills will continue for several days and be led by the Egyptian Parachute Forces, the statement added.
The training program encompasses various activities aimed at exchanging tactical expertise between the two forces in counterterrorism operations. These activities include vertical raids, detection and neutralization of improvised explosive devices, free-jumping exercises, land navigation, and training in medical first aid for life-saving purposes.
The exercises are part of a joint training plan designed to bolster military cooperation between the armed forces of Egypt and their counterparts from friendly nations.
