Pope Tawadros to lead funeral mass of Anba Sawiris

CAIRO - 22 July 2017: Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark Diocese will lead on Saturday the funeral mass of Anba Sawiris, Bishop of the Monastery of the Holy Virgin Mary (Muharraq Monastery), who died at the age of 74.

In a statement, the Coptic Orthodox Church said the funeral mass will be held at the St. Peter & St. Paul Coptic Orthodox Church (El Botroseya Church) in Cairo's Abbassiya district.

Another funeral service will be held at the monastery on Sunday, in the presence of its monks.
