CAIRO - 10 February 2024: The Kingdom of Jordan has warned of the grave dangers of the Israeli military's potential operation in the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah, as reported by Jordanian television.
Similarly, Saudi Arabia has cautioned against the serious repercussions of storming and targeting Rafah in the Gaza Strip, the last refuge for hundreds of thousands of civilians displaced by brutal Israeli aggression.
In a statement released on Saturday, Saudi Arabia vehemently rejected and strongly condemned the forced displacement, reiterating its call for an immediate ceasefire. The statement emphasized that such flagrant violations of international and humanitarian law underscore the urgent need for the United Nations Security Council to convene promptly to prevent Israel from causing an imminent humanitarian disaster, for which all supporters of the aggression would bear responsibility.
Nabil Abu Rudeineh, the spokesperson for the Palestinian presidency, stated that the Israeli attack on Rafah and the attempt to displace Palestinian citizens do not absolve the US administration of responsibility.
He stressed the need for the US administration to compel the occupation to halt the genocidal massacres it is committing against the Palestinian people, highlighting the recent events in Rafah, which resulted in 25 martyrs and dozens of injured, pushing matters to the brink of disaster.
Abu Rudeineh pointed out the suspicious and unprecedented synchronization of the Israeli escalation with an aggressive campaign to undermine the independent Palestinian national decision and agenda, in an attempt to evade ending the war and implementing UN Security Council resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
He called on the global community to unite in stopping the Israeli aggression and the bloodshed of Palestinians and to halt the displacement. The US administration must act differently and seriously to stop this Israeli madness, which has expanded the war zones in the region and laid the groundwork for ongoing regional conflicts.
Meanwhile, Gaza's media office warned of a potential global catastrophe and massacre that could result in tens of thousands of martyrs and injured if the Israeli military were to invade the Rafah Governorate. The office held the US administration, the international community, and the Israeli occupation fully responsible.
The governmental media office noted that Israeli media outlets have discussed the army's intentions and threats to attack and invade Rafah (south of the Gaza Strip), home to over 1.4 million Palestinian citizens, including 1.3 million displaced from other provinces, potentially leading to a global catastrophe and massacre.
