Egypt, Bulgaria in talks for cooperation on IT, innovation

CAIRO – 8 February 2024: Egyptian Ambassador to Sofia Nader Saad met earlier this week with Bulgarian Minister for Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel to prepare for the meetings of the joint ministerial committee that will convene in Cairo on the weekend.

The Egyptian ambassador and the Bulgarian minister tackled cooperation proposals that the ministers of both countries will discuss in details. Those are mainly in the sectors of innovation, information technology, and artificial intelligence capitalizing on Bulgaria's expertise and Egypt's human capital in such fields.

Minister Gabriel met with her Egyptian counterpart in January on the sidelines of the meeting of the Association Council of the European Union and Egypt held in Brussels. The focus of the talks was economic cooperation and mutual support on the international community level.
