President Sisi receives phone call from Italian PM Giorgia Meloni

CAIRO –7 February 2024: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al Sisi received a phone call from Italian PM Giorgia Meloni, where they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields.

During the call, both leaders also discussed developments in the regional situation and the escalation the region is witnessing, especially Egyptian efforts to communicate with all parties to push for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, in a way that protects the region from the expansion of the conflict.

President Sisi reviewed Egypt’s efforts to engage with all parties to push for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, so as to spare the region from an expansion of the scope of the conflict.

The President highlighted Egypt’s efforts to deliver desperately needed humanitarian aid and relief to the people of the Gaza Strip. President Sisi emphasized the vital necessity to make tangible progress in efforts to restore calm and advance the path of the two-state solution.
