CAIRO – 5 February 2024: The fifth round of political consultations between Egypt and Singapore took place in Cairo Sunday as the latter's delegation expressed willingness to plan a visit for business people to get informed on investment opportunities in tourism, hospitality, and banking.
On the other hand, Egyptian diplomats said they looked forward to benefiting from the Singaporean experience in civil aviation, maritime transport, and port management. The two sides equally exchanged views on major international and regional affairs of joint interest.
In November, Minister of Foreign Affairs and his Singaporean counterpart discussed over the phone the tragic humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip and the indiscriminate destruction of infrastructure in the Strip.
Minister Vivian Balakrishnan valued Egypt's efforts to reduce escalation and deliver humanitarian aid, as well as facilitate the exit of third-country nationals.
