CAIRO – 25 January 2024: The Ministry of Social Solidarity announced the conclusion of the first phase of the "1000-Kilometer Journey" campaign aimed at promoting awareness on women reproductive health and cervical cancer.
Until present, two million women have been reached through 6,300 female social leaders who made 200,000 home visits, and held 25,000 public lectures. In addition, there are 750 medics at women health clinics, distributed among various governorates, who also carry out the awareness mission.
The first phase comprised 10 governorates that are Alexandria, Beni Suef, Menya, Asyut, Sohag, Qena, Luxor, Aswan, Cairo, and Giza. It also included introducing 20 women health clinics out of planned 50, as well as two mobile clinics.
