CAIRO – 17 January 2024: Minister of Defense and Military Production Mohamed Zaki received Tuesday UN Senior Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator for Gaza Sigrid Kaag to discuss ways of concerting efforts to achieve a sufficient flow of aid and rescue equipment to the strip to mend the severe shortage in basic needs caused by the incessant military operation.
The minister stipulated the Egyptian firm stance on the Palestinian Cause and that is aligned with the UN resolutions. The general equally stressed rejection to all attempts of displacing the Palestinian people as well as eagerness for coordinating with all international and regional parties to achieve pacification and alleviating the human suffering of Gaza residents.
On her side, the UN senior coordinator commended Egypt for providing and facilitating the delivery of aid to Gaza, expressing hope that the current international efforts would result in a ceasefire.
The meeting was attended by Chief of Staff Osama Askar, and a number of senior commanders at the Egyptian Armed Forces.
