France's CMA CGM expresses interest in launching new projects in Egypt

CAIRO – 16 January 2024: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi held Tuesday a meeting with CEO of CMA CGM Rodolphe Saade who expressed interest in expanding cooperation with the country to include new projects in light of the big and promising opportunities Egypt offers in the sector of seaports and logistic centers.

 

Saade briefed President Sisi on the progress rate of projects implemented by the company in Egypt. Those are pertaining to multipurpose terminals, maritime transport, designing dry ports and logistic areas connected to seaports by railways.

 

On his side, the Egyptian president commended the current collaboration with CMA CGM lauding its role in upgrading Egyptian seaports and enhancing their capacity and logistic competence, which fulfills the country's plan to turn into an international logistic and commercial center.

 

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Minister of Transport Kamel al-Wazir, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority Osama Rabie, and CMA CGM Vice-President for Public Affairs, Governmental Contracts and Business Development Patrice Bergamini.
