CAIRO - 3 January 2024: Egypt's nation-wide developmental initiative "Haya Karima" provides 40 percent of the job opportunities to people living in villages, where the initiative's projects are taking place.

The initiative also provides small, medium and micro loans through financing associations and various banks, which contributes to creating job opportunities for women and youth, and encouraging a culture of self-employment.

In addition, villages are being transformed into productive rural communities, by supporting handicrafts and centers for manufacturing local products, in a way that is integrated with the various financial and banking services that are provided, which has resulted in covering all local units with ATM machines and electronic wallets.

A report by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development explained that the environmental dimension is strongly present in "Haya Karima" initiative, and from the first moments of its launch, there was great interest in integrating environmental sustainability and promoting green investments in it, which currently amounts to 30% of the total allocations.
