Flying object shot down off coasts of Sinai’s Dahab

CAIRO – 26 December 2023: Eye witnesses told Al Qahera News Tuesday that a flying object was shot down two kilometers away from the coastal line of Sinai’s Dahab in tandem with hearing a sound of explosions in the sky.

The incident is the second of its kind as a similar one happened on December 16 in the same resort town. The object, which was flying at a low altitude, was detected by Egyptian air defenses which brought it down. The object crashed into the sea about 1.5 kilometers off the coast of Dahab.

On October 27, two drones crashed in Sinai's Taba and Nweiba. Investigations by the Egyptian Armed Forces showed that they were launched from southern the Red Sea and targeted in the Gulf of Aqaba outside the Egyptian airspace. The debris of one of them fell in an uninhabited area in Nweiba, while those of the second fell on a building affiliated to Taba Hospital incurring six minor injuries.
