CAIRO – 24 December 2023: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has directed to continue enhancing project implementation efficiency, aiming to improve the indicators of the general budget and reduce the overall budget deficit.
In a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait on Sunday, Sisi also ordered intensifying work on various developmental and service projects that directly benefit citizens, the Presidency said in a statement.
Additionally, the president instructed the government to continue to support social protection programs. Beneficiaries of the social protection program Takaful w Karama (Solidarity & Dignity) has totaled 22 million citizens, representing more than 5 million households, in various governorates.
During the meeting, Sisi emphasized that the primary goal of all state efforts is to improve the living conditions of citizens and build a state capable of providing a decent and dignified quality of life for all its citizens.
The meeting followed up on the financial performance indicators of the general budget. Maait, for his part, reviewed the ongoing efforts to achieve budget targets, particularly maintaining financial stability amidst the current global crisis.
Additionally, Maait presented state’s efforts focused on increasing the supply of goods and services by improving the investment climate, developing infrastructure, enhancing competitiveness, and investing in human resources.
Current efforts also include productivity improvement to achieve higher growth rates alongside intensive efforts to reduce inflation.
