CAIRO – 24 December 2023: Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry received Sunday a phone call from his Portuguese counterpart Joao Cravinho to discuss developments in Gaza Strip and necessary international efforts to end the war and contain its consequences.
The call tackled in details the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in Gaza, and there was congruence on the salience of the full and immediate implementation of the UN Security Council's resolution endorsed on December 22.
The resolution urges devising a mechanism to accelerate and observe the humanitarian aid delivery to Gaza in order to fulfill the pressing needs of the Palestinian people.
The two ministers also discussed the increasing brutality against Palestinians in the West Bank so as Minister Shokry underlined that the international community must play an effective role in ending the war in Gaza and in halting the establishment of settlements across Palestinian territories.
