CAIRO - 20 December 2023: Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will receive on Thursday UK Foreign Minister and Commonwealth Affairs Minister David Cameron, who is currently on a visit to Egypt.
The two Minsters are expected to hold talks to discuss boosting Egyptian-UK relations in all domains in addition to other issues of mutual interest, including the developments in Gaza.
In a speech during the 6th round of Arab-Russian Cooperation Forum, Shoukry reiterated the importance of immediate and sustainable ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, securing entry of humanitarian and relief aid to the enclave and ending besiege, starvation and collective punishment imposed on two million in Gaza.
According to Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abou Zeid, Shoukry stressed in his speech, Wednesday Egypt’s keenness on its historical and strategic relations with Russia in the fields of politics, economy, trade, nuclear energy, food security, military coordination and others.
He also pointed out at the strategic partnership between the Arab world and Russia.
Shoukry said he is confident that the forum will contribute to fostering relations and partnership between Arab states and Russia as well as finding and recognizing priorities and joint stances concerning regional and international issues of mutual concern.
