Al-Azhar mourns Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah

CAIRO – 16 December 2023: Grand Imam of Al Azhar, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb, mourned Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, who passed away this morning, Saturday, said Al Azhar Sheikhdom in a statement.

The deceased Emir served his people and his country, and supported the Arab and Islamic nations, the statement added.

The Sheikh of Al-Azhar extended his sincere condolences and sincere sympathy to the Kuwaiti people and to the family of the deceased Emir, praying to the Almighty Allah to bless the deceased.

In a statement released by the Egyptian presidency, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the Egyptian people mourned the deceased leader, "the great man who was supportive of his Arab and Islamic nation, keen on its affairs, wise in his leadership, and gave a lot of effort and generosity to his country and to the Arab and Islamic nations."

The Arab Republic of Egypt declares three days of mourning for the deceased throughout the country.

"We ask God Almighty to shower the deceased with His mercy, and to inspire the brotherly people of Kuwait with patience and solace," the statement read.
