Winter countdown begins: Light rain possible in northern Egypt next week

CAIRO – 15 December 2023: As winter is only a week away, Egypt may experience some light rain in its northern coast next week, according to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) expectations.

Aside from that, all areas across the nation will continue to experience good weather during daytime, except for South Sinai and southern Upper Egypt, where weather is expected to be warm and hot respectively.

At night time, cold weather continues nationwide.

Average temperatures based on the EMA expectations next week:

- Cairo and Lower Egypt – Highs: 23 – lows: 15

- Northern coasts – Highs: 22 – lows: 13

- South Sinai – Highs: 27 – lows: 17

- Northern Upper Egypt – Highs: 23 – lows: 9

- Southern Upper Egypt – Highs: 28 – lows: 14
