Egypt's President Sisi congratulates Bahrain’s king on National Day

CAIRO – 14 December 2023: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi sent a cable to King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain to congratulate him on the Bahraini Independence Day.

President Sisi also dispatched Ahmed Mohamed Reda, Secretary of the Presidency, to the Bahraini Embassy in Cairo to extend congratulations on this occasion.

This year, Bahrain celebrates the 52nd National Day to coincide with the day on which late Emir Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa was coronated in 1971.

This comes after Bahrain’s independence from the British on 15 August 1971 as per a friendship treaty between the two sides.
