Egypt’s expertise in water resources should serve African interests: Sisi

CAIRO - 12 December 2023: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi followed up on water cooperation with the Nile Basin countries in a Tuesday meeting with the prime minister. 

The meeting touched on rainwater harvesting tanks, underground drinking water stations, projects to clear waterways and protect them from floods, as well as the construction of river anchorages.

In the meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Major General Abbas Kamel, head of General Intelligence, and Minister of Water Resources Hani Sweilem, Sisi said cooperation with Nile Basin countries is one of the most important constants of joint Egyptian-African work.

He added that Egyptian human capabilities and diverse technical and institutional expertise in the field of water resources can be used to implement many projects for joint development in the interest of the African continent.
