CAIRO - 12 December 2023: In the early hours of the final days of the 2024 presidential elections, polling stations in the Al-Haram district witnessed a significant turnout of voters. The elections, which commenced two days ago on Sunday, have seen women prominently participating in the voting process since the opening of the polling stations at 9 AM.
The presidential candidates in this election include:
Presidential candidate Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, represented by the star symbol.Presidential candidate Farid Zuhran, leader of the Egyptian Democratic Party, represented by the sun symbol.Presidential candidate Abdel Sannad Yumama, leader of the Wafd Party, represented by the palm tree symbol.Presidential candidate Hazem Omar, represented by the peace symbol.
The Giza Governorate is divided into 6 general committees, comprising 457 polling centers and 754 sub-committees, all set up to accommodate 6,234,318 registered voters from the governorate. Additionally, committees for expatriates have been established to allow citizens from other provinces to cast their votes within the industrial areas and residential clusters within the governorate.
The main operations room at the governorate'sheadquarters operates around the clock, ensuring continuous communication with all sub-operations rooms across the region to monitor the election process in real-time and address any obstacles promptly.
The 2024 presidential elections in Egypt are taking place as scheduled by the National Electoral Commission, spanning December 10th, 11th, and 12th. Voting hours run from 9 AM to 9 PM, with December 13th designated for the completion of the vote count, the submission of reports to the central committees, and the announcement of results on December 18th.
