CAIRO - 11 December 2023: The African Union Election Observation Mission continued on Monday their monitoring process and inspection at polling stations during the second day of the voting process of the 2024 Egyptian Presidential Elections. 
 
Dense crowds of voters flocked to the polling stations since the early morning to cast their votes in the presidential elections on the second day, as the committees witnessed queues of voters from different age groups.
 
The 2024 presidential elections witnessed a political diversity of candidates for the presidential elections, as they included four candidates, namely candidate Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, with the symbol of the star; candidate Farid Zahran with the symbol of the sun; the candidate Abdel-Sanad Yamama, symbol of the Palm Tree, head of the Wafd Party, and the candidate Hazem Omar with the symbol of the ladder, head of the Republican People’s Party, which is the second largest Egyptian party represented in the House of Representatives.
 
The National Elections Authority determined the number of sub-polling committees before which citizens will cast the ballots, with a total number 11,631 committees are located inside 9,376 electoral centers, including: schools, youth centers, and health units.
 
The 2024 presidential elections is held in Egypt according to the schedule set by the National Elections Authority on December 10, 11, and 12, with the voting process starting from 9 a.m. in the morning until 9 p.m. in the evening.
 
December 13 is set for the end of the sorting process and sending the records to the general committees, while on December 18, the elections results will be announced.
